Day 1 – Tsavo East Safari
06:00 – Departure from the hotel
Drive through Mombasa on the way to Nairobi. There will be a toilet break along the way and the opportunity to buy cold drinks, coffee and souvenirs.
09:00 – Arrival at Tsavo East Park (Bachuma Gate)
Tsavo East Park covers an area of 11,747 km² and is a vast, untouched semi-desert area covered with dry shrubs and acacia trees. The Galana River flows through the park and on the horizon is the Yatta Plateau, the longest volcanic plateau in the world.
09:30 - First Game Drive
On your first game drive in the park, an experienced driver-guide will lead the search for wildlife, drawing on his own experience and communicating with other guides in the park.
12:00–13:00 – Accommodation and lunch at the hotel/lodge
After arrival, time for accommodation and a buffet lunch. A moment of rest after the meal, possibility of using the pool.
16:00 – Afternoon Game Drive
As the temperature drops, head out on another golden hour game drive to explore the park. Drive around the park and observe animals until 6:00–6:30 PM (driving in the park is prohibited after dark).
19:00 – Dinner and overnight stay
Evening at the hotel – dinner, opportunity to observe animals from the viewing terrace and overnight stay.
Day 2 – Morning Safari and Return to Mombasa
06:30 – Early breakfast and preparation for safari
Wake up, have breakfast and prepare for the morning safari.
07:00 – Morning Game Drive
Morning game drives are the best time to spot animals heading to water, when temperatures are cooler and the views across the park are filled with the fresh light of day.
09:30–10:00 – Departure from Tsavo East Park
Depending on the time you enter the park, end your safari and head back towards Mombasa. Optionally, you can visit a traditional Masai village on the way back.
